


Miss K. I. Morton, passed away on July 17th 2002, Isobel to her many friends in Chester and the surrounding area, was a long standing member of Chester P.S., in 1994 members of the Society presented Isobel with an engraved pendant to celebrate 50 years membership having joined the society in 1944.
Isobel was a member of the R.P.S. and gained her ARPS in 1975, followed by her FRPS in 1976, her main interests were in Monochrome Photography where she specialized in the photography of Glass objects and Glassware in a still life situation, her ability to control, and use light in these conditions, made her work both unique and original. An authority on Black and White processing, her work won many awards both locally and at National level. One incident that we particularly remember was along with the Late Geoff Steel, persuading Isobel to try out the then new Cibachrome Colour Process, from her First Batch of Cibachrome Paper and Chemicals, she produced a Colour Print that Won the Best Colour Print Award in the L&CPU Annual Competition for that year.
Isobel was a school teacher and later Headmistress in Chester over
a period of more than 20 years. She enjoyed travel and travelled extensively
in Europe with her Parents, Isobel made a number of Safari trips to East Africa
to photograph the Wildlife with her long-standing friend Jean Dixon. Isobel
served the Society in many ways over the years, being President FIVE times,
her last term as President being in 1987 Chester Photographic Society's Centenary
Year. Although not actively involved for a few years, Isobel maintained a
keen interest in the Society's activities.
